We are excited to offer a unique and highly sort-after opportunity for a passionate Living Collection Keeper to join the team at the Arundel Wetland Centre. The unique bird collection at Arundel contains some of the rarest waterbirds within Europe, ranging from Scoters, Scaley Sided Mergansers and Spectacled Eiders, making this an exciting and rewarding position set in the beautiful surroundings of the Arun Valley. In this role, you will assist in the management of the living collection, maintain high standards of care and husbandry whilst helping to ensure the effective running and maintenance of the grounds.
This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring you to work 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays.
To join us as a Living Collection Keeper you'll bring:
- Previous experience working in a zoo, wildlife park or similar with the ability to ensure the highest animal welfare standards are met.
- Bring a positive attitude, particularly in learning new husbandry, and have the ability to use basic grounds-keeping equipment.
This role requires team work, flexibility with the ability to adapt to change and work to tight deadlines on occasion. The role will require a candidate that can work unsupervised on a variety of tasks and follow instructions.
