Corpus Christi College is seeking to appoint a 5-hour Lecturer in Medieval English with effect from 1 October 2026. The lectureship will be for a fixed term from 1 September 2026 to 30 June 2027 and will be non-renewable. The Lecturer will be expected to teach an average of 5 hours a week over each term and will be required to teach Prelims Paper 1A: Introduction to English Language, Prelims Paper 2: Literature in English 650-1350 and FHS Paper 2: Literature in English 1350-1550. Specific details on the courses are available in the Prelims and FHS handbooks. The Lecturer will also be expected to set and mark collections (internal termly examinations), write and submit student reports and assist with admissions interviews. This is a teaching-only position and the Lecturer will not be expected to organise any teaching beyond their own duties or to provide academic oversight and pastoral care for students, which is provided by the two Fellows in English.

The Lecturer will receive a stipend of between £7,464 - £9,244 depending on experience (uplifted in October) and one free lunch and one free dinner a week whilst the kitchen is open.
