The university operates through a partnership of twelve colleges and research institutions, located throughout Argyll, the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire.

To support our work we are recruiting to the following role:

Lecturer – Health & Social Care

Salary range Salary for this post will be on the appropriate scale of the national pay scales for college lecturers, which start at £41,833(pro rata). Duration Fixed Term to June 2027 Working hours Part-Time Location Anywhere in Argyll Closing Date 21st June 2026

Starting in August 2026, this 0.5 FTE post is to teach Health & Social Care subjects via networked classes through MS Teams to students in Argyll. This teaching can be delivered from any of our UHI Argyll centres.

The units to be delivered initially would be the following (three per semester) and delivered as part of our Access to Care (Health & Early Years) course.

DM5T11 - HIV Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Infections

F1P111 - Healthy Eating in a Care Setting

J20375 - Care: Human Development and Behaviour

J22S75 - Care: Social Influences

F3G211 - Social Services in Scotland: An Introduction

J22Y75 - Care: Values and Principles

You would be expected to have achieved a minimum of a SCQF Level 7 qualification in Health & Social Care related subject or have sufficient and relevant industry experience.

Experience of teaching would be advantageous, but not essential, as all training will be provided.

You will be expected to develop any additional materials required for the teaching of these units and for these learning and teaching materials to be stored within college technology systems.

The post is also subject to an application to join Disclosure Scotland Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
