Job Title Lecturer - Computing Post Holder Accountable To Delivery Team Manager – Creative, Enterprise, Technology and Essential Skills Responsible For Providing learning, teaching and assessment in line with pre-agreed timetables Department CETES Overall Purpose of Job To provide effective learning, teaching and assessment as agreed with the Head of Sector and Delivery Team Manager. Main Duties and Responsibilities CORE KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Formally structured teaching to agreed target detailed on the timetable using a range of appropriate learning and teaching methods. To develop, review, maintain and update learning and teaching materials including lesson plans, handouts, presentations and formative assessment. Effective assessment of learning and teaching, student tutorials/projects, etc. To maintain accurate records relating to student attendance and achievement. To carry out assessments in line with awarding body standards and provide formal feedback to students. To comply with all College Policies and Procedures. To provide curricular guidance and first line discipline to students as required. To maintain professional teaching standards and vocational qualifications. To attend agreed professional/staff development and to participate in the Individual Staff Review process. 10 To participate in Portfolio area and other College meetings as required. You may also be required to: 1 2 3 Undertake duties as an Internal Verifier in line with College Policy and Procedures in an area of occupational competency. To undertake the duties of a Course Tutor. To support the work of the Portfolio Area in terms of recruitment, marketing and resourcing as required. Date ……………………… (Line Manager) PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) PDA in Teaching Practice in Scotland (Learning & Teaching) or equivalent Computing Professional qualification related to Computing related qualification at SCQF Level 8 or above ‑ KNOWLEDGE Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and skills that underpin the modern digital world, bringing together elements of technology, computing science, and creative digital media. Knowledge and practical understanding of applying analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation skills to a range of digital solutions. EXPERIENCE Experience in teaching Computing or related subject Experience of working in the Computing sector Industrial experience, with strong knowledge and understanding of how to communicate computing concepts and explain computational behaviour clearly using accurate and current technical terminology. Evidence of strong industry contacts that can support curriculum relevance, enhance learner employability, and help maintain up awareness of sector needs. date to ‑ ‑ INTERPERSONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES Effective presentation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and structured learning sessions.
