Job description:

An  opportunity  to  join  the  award-winning  Learning  Team  at  Creswell  Crags,  to  help  to  shape  the
delivery of the Learning Programme for schools and develop exciting new opportunities for visitors to
this inspiring site. The Learning Supervisor role will be key in supporting the Learning Manager with
the administration of the Learning Team, and supporting the Learning Facilitators with the delivery of
a range of audience engagement activities.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Key responsibilities:

o  Being the first point of contact for the Learning Facilitators in supporting their delivery of the school

and visitor programme, including creating staff rotas and scheduling public tours.

o  Working with the Finance & Bookings Liaison Officer to manage school bookings.

o  Coordinating  the  maintenance  of  equipment  and  the  purchasing  of  resources  for  the  Learning

Team.

o  Contributing to the creation and development of appropriate formal and informal learning activities

for all audiences at Creswell Crags.

o  The delivery of on-site formal and informal learning activities. These may include:

  Public & private tours of the caves
  School group visits
  Family learning activities
  University group visits
  On-site talks
  Costumed interpretation sessions
  Other sessions, as they are developed

o  The delivery of off-site formal and informal learning activities. These may include:

  Learning activities at partner sites
  Outreach sessions
  External talks
  Other sessions, as they are developed

o  Ensuring  all  elements  of  the  role which  involve working  with  children  or  vulnerable  adults  are

conducted in accordance with the Trust’s safeguarding policies.

o  Ensuring  that  any  specific  requirements/requests  of  visiting  groups  (e.g.  SEN  adaptations)  are

identified and acted upon.

o  Facilitating events delivered by external parties on behalf on Creswell Heritage Trust.

o  Undertaking  regular  inspections  of  the  caves,  recording  observations  according  to  CHT

procedures.

o  Setting up and clearing away learning sessions, including moving equipment around the site.

o  Maintaining  a  clean,  orderly  and  safe  working  environment,  ensuring  that  all  relevant  risk

assessments are understood and adhered to.

o  Presenting  a warm, welcoming,  and  accessible  point  of  contact  for  all person-led  learning  and

engagement activities on site.

o  Promoting the unique significance of Creswell Crags to a wide audience.

o  Being able and willing to travel to alternative sites (e.g. University of Nottingham) to perform role.

o  Being prepared to undertake all training relevant to the role and taking a proactive approach to

seeking out CPD opportunities.

o  Representing Creswell Heritage Trust with external stakeholders, in particular within the wider

museum sector, maintaining appropriate working contacts and relationships.

Experience
Delivering informative tours, activities, workshops, or similar, to a range of
audiences
Working with children
Administrative tasks (e.g. creating rotas, scheduling meetings, etc.)
Supervising teams of people, staff or volunteers
Administrating online booking systems (e.g. online ticket sales)
Explaining complex ideas and concepts to the public
Demonstrable work experience in  a  heritage,  arts, cultural  or  charitable
organisation

Education / Qualifications
5 GCSEs grade C/Level 5 or above, including English & Maths, or equivalent
Degree or professional qualification/accreditation in a relevant discipline
(archaeology, history, education, or similar)

Basic IT literacy including the MS Office productivity suite
Awareness of health and safety in relation to working with children and
/or in an outdoor activity setting
Use of Teamup to manage  rotas, Vennersys  to  manage  ticket  sales,  and

Understanding of the themes that pertain to Creswell Crags (archaeology,
palaeontology, anthropology, etc.)
