Purpose of the Learning & Development Co-ordinator Role
The Learning & Development Coordinator will lead on the development, delivery and coordination of a workforce induction and development programme for Includem. They will ensure that the Includem workforce is equipped to deliver professional, quality services which adhere to national standards, supporting children, young people and their families.
Key Activities & Tasks
Working with line managers, the coordinator will plan, schedule, deliver and evaluate a robust induction and workforce development programme.
Coordination Activities:
o Create access to and coordinate engagement with mandatory training courses as part of employee induction and ongoing development.
o Assist with the development of the Learning & Development strategy across the organisation.
o Liaise with external stakeholders and suppliers of Learning & Development services and products to ensure Includem offers and delivers optimum Learning & Development opportunities across the organisation
o Pursue and drive professional accreditation.
Delivery Activities:
o Receive, coordinate and/or prepare materials for training sessions and workshops.
o Deliver training and workforce development sessions for staff.
o Design and deliver the full suite of Includem’s internal training.
Admin Activities:
o Track and report on all employee training activities
o Send out pre-work and post-work if applicable, and create and administer feedback surveys
o Send follow up notices to employees to confirm attendance to training programmes.
o Maintain all programmes and databases which capture Learning & Development information.
o Gather Learning & Development KPIs, reporting for HR Committee papers quarterly
Other:
o Schedule and attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders where Learning & Development is the key activity/focus
o Maintain awareness with sector practice and legislative requirements to ensure training products and services are delivered effectively and timely.
o Attending forums, industry specific events, colleges & universities to showcase and educate about what includem delivers.
o Support tender submissions and implementation of new services with key learning and development information.
o Coordinate and manage qualification requirements in line with registration.
Person Specification – Behaviours & Competencies
• You will be educated to degree or CIPD Level 5 or have relevant skills and experience in a similar role
Experience of working in the care/charity sector (preferred but not essential)
Competence in understanding of multiple approaches to learning
Proven experience in scoping, development and delivery of training materials to a wide and varied audience
• Knowledge of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Disclosure Scotland (PVGs, Disclosures)
• Demonstrate ability to work at the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion
• A fresh and vibrant attitude to training development and service delivery
An analytical approach - able to produce clear, meaningful reports
Excellent and confident communicator
Strong administrative skills
Confident and practised in the use of online applications – Outlook, excel, word, powerpoint, Canva
Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues
Ability to engage and motivate others
• Resilient, flexible and adaptable, with ability to self-manage and work without supervision
