Job Introduction
What does it take to build exceptional leaders and future talent in a national health and social care organisation?
It takes someone who can spot potential, shape capability, and create meaningful development experiences that truly make a difference.
We’re looking for a Leadership & Talent Development Specialist to play a key role in designing and delivering high-impact leadership, talent and skills initiatives across our organisation — helping our people grow, thrive, and deliver outstanding services.
This is a remote role with travel required across England (all expenses and mileage covered). You’ll have real autonomy over your diary, giving you the flexibility to balance delivery, stakeholder engagement and your own way of working.
About the Role
This is a varied and high-impact role where you’ll work at both a strategic and hands-on level.
You’ll design and deliver leadership and talent initiatives, support managers to develop inclusive and values-led leadership behaviours and use data and insight to shape future workforce capability.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening our talent pipeline, supporting apprenticeships and professional development pathways, and ensuring our learning offer is aligned to organisational priorities.
Alongside this, you’ll build strong relationships across services and functions — acting as a trusted expert and partner in leadership and talent development.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, deliver and evaluate leadership, management and skills development programmes
• Provide expertise in apprenticeships and development pathways, ensuring compliance and quality
• Support leaders with coaching and guidance to build capability and confidence
• Identify workforce skills gaps and develop targeted development solutions
• Lead engagement and promotion of leadership and talent initiatives
• Use data and insight to evaluate impact and continuously improve learning effectiveness
• Contribute to succession planning, early talent and high-potential development programmes
• Collaborate with HR, OD and workforce teams to align development with organisational strategy
• Support digital learning platforms to improve access and learner experience
About You
You’re passionate about developing people and confident working with stakeholders at all levels.
You’ll bring:
• Strong experience in leadership, talent or organisational development
• A track record of designing and delivering impactful development interventions
• Coaching and facilitation skills that enable others to grow
• Knowledge of apprenticeships and/or professional development pathways
• The ability to use data and insight to shape decisions and improve outcomes
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A values-led, inclusive approach to leadership and development
• The confidence to work independently while influencing across a complex organisation
