Leadership & Life Skills Facilitator (Internship) Job Description & Person Specification September 2026 Responsible to: Head of Key Stage 4 Line manages: N/A Job Overview To deliver our Leadership and Life Skills course to Key Stage 4, supporting the work of specialist teachers and the Pastoral Team to ensure maximum value-added for every pupil in every subject. This paid opportunity provides hands-on experience and professional development, while allowing interns to draw on their own strengths as outstanding learners to support and inspire our Key Stage 4 pupils. This is a fixed-term contract from September 2026 – July 2027. Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver a comprehensive Leadership and Life Skills programme to Key Stage 4. Be familiar with the requirements of GCSEs; understanding the syllabus and mark scheme offered in each subject. Balance the requirements of supporting GCSEs through delivery of GCSE mindset and study skills with teaching other elements including financial literacy. Work with subject teachers to ensure good communication about subject requirements and individual students. Be responsible for the attitude, discipline, safety, well-being and progress of the children in his/her lessons. Run and/or assist in the organisation of co-curricular activities. Make suitable provision within the organisation of the teaching for the range of ability within the class. Ensure the discipline, well-being and progress of his or her teaching-groups. Ensure that the general standard of the work within his or her teaching-groups is of the standard required. Keep the Form Teacher/Tutor/Head of Year informed about any difficulties relating to pupil work and progress. Engage with pupil tracking data and reporting to inform work needed in Leadership and Life Skills. Ensure the display of work produced by pupils in his or her teaching-groups. Attend and contribute to meetings called by SMT or Heads of Department and others as required. Carry out supervisory duties as required and determined by the School. Provide cover for absent colleagues when required, and being willing to help supervise year-group outings as appropriate. Attend Parents’ Evenings and special school functions such as Open Day, Carol Service and Concerts. Maintaining effective communicative relationships with parents and staff. At all times the Leadership and Life Skills Facilitator will: Help to safeguard the children’s wellbeing and maintain public trust in the teaching profession. Help to provide a safe environment in which the children can learn. Help to identify children who may need extra support or who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm. Promptly raise any concerns to the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and work with other services as needed. Attend the relevant child safeguarding training and other mandatory induction training as required by the School.
