With my kindest wishes, Anne-Marie CEO and Founder ABOUT US Peer Power Youth is a youth led charity that works alongside young people aged 10–25 who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, exclusion, and systemic injustice. Many of the young people we connect with have encountered the care or youth justice systems, often due to deep rooted societal failures. Our work is rooted in empathy, equity, and ethical youth voice practice. Since 2016, we’ve supported over 1,000 young people and 7,000 professionals, embedding healing, trusted relationships, and youth voice at the heart of services. We exist to challenge re-traumatising systems and build new ones that are youth-led, relational, and compassionate. Our 2025–2029 strategy focuses on: Deepening our impact through youth leadership and ethical youth voice practice Building a resilient and sustainable organisation with strong systems and infrastructure, staff support and financial stability Collaborating to influence change in youth support services and scaling our Empathy Led Model (ELM) Championing anti-oppressive, values led ways of working We are a small and committed core team, based across London and the South East, with a wider group of contractors and young partners supporting the organisation. Our head office in at Fivefields, Victoria, a collaborative space for children and young people charities, our team work from Victoria, from home, or from co-working spaces in Worthing or Brighton. THE ROLE This role is a key part of the team at Peer Power Youth. Responsible for leading, co- ordinating and delivering and evaluating young people’s involvement in our creative ‘voice and influence’ project, you will co-create and work alongside young people in secure settings and in the community. You will also be able to lead on a specialist area of work within the team. As a Lead co-ordination role, we’re looking for someone who can develop high quality relationships and liaise with funders and commissioners and has a qualification in youth work or significant relevant experience. Experience with youth justice and/or secure settings is desirable, but not essential. An average week might look like: ·Co-ordinating and delivering youth voice or wellbeing sessions, liaising with commissioners, funders, and young people ·Delivery and co-ordination of accredited skills development sessions for young people ·Providing one‑to‑one relational support to young people ·Preparing young people for meetings/events with partners ·Working alongside contractors to ensure consistent delivery quality ·Completing safeguarding, risk assessments and session planning ·Recording outcomes and monitoring impact using CRM systems ·Supporting young people’s involvement in decision making internally ·Supporting young people’s involvement in training and coaching HOW TO APPLY Please apply by completing this application form. LEAD YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PRACTITIONER Office base Working in secure settings, community, and our offices in London or Sussex. One day a fortnight can be from home. Salary Hours £35,200 - £37,400 pro-rata (depending on experience) 28 hours per week We are open to applications from applicants looking for 21 hours, if demonstrated the role can be fulfilled in this time. Leave 25 days, 8 bank holidays, 2 personal days, 3 festive period discretionary days (pro rata) Reporting to Youth Programmes & Training KEY RESPONSIBILITIES... Co-ordination & Partnership Programme Support & Coordination ·Plan, co-create, and deliver youth engagement projects that enable youth voice and influence in secure and community settings ·Plan and deliver effective youth voice pathways, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement and retention of young partners ·Build and maintain trusted relationships with young people who have lived experience of care, justice, or social care systems ·Lead on specialist areas within the Youth Engagement Team (e.g., inclusion, events, training), providing guidance and modelling best practice. ·Support contractors and PPY team to ensure consistent, high quality delivery aligned with the Empathy-Led Model. ·Oversee the induction, training, and participation of young partners, ensuring appropriate support and remuneration ·Coordinate liaison with associates, artists, and delivery partners to facilitate project success ·With support from Manager, monitor project budgets and track spend in line with organisational processes ·Maintain accurate data records and documentation for youth engagement activities, ensuring GDPR compliance ·Support evaluation processes and reporting on youth outcomes and programme impact Work with communications team to amplify young people’s voices within and beyond Peer Power Youth Impact, Evaluation and reporting ·Ensure effective and creative systems in place for evaluation, and report on individual outcomes for young people ·Ensure inputting of data and recording of project activity using Beacon CRM system and processing in line with data protection policy and regulations ·Ensure performance/prpgress against agreed targets Provide timely and accurate reporting information Engagement, Care & Connection General ·Create safe, equitable, inclusive, and caring spaces where young people feel valued, confident, and supported ·Ensure young people’s expertise is recognised and acted upon meaningfully in programme design and delivery ·Collaborate with young people and Peer Leaders to co-design and deliver group sessions focused on wellbeing, skills development, and leadership ·Provide one-to-one and group relational support to Peer Leaders to help them achieve goals and progress ·Support young people’s wellbeing, making referrals and supporting young people into external services ·Always uphold safeguarding and welfare responsibilities ·Promote respect, tolerance, and understanding among young people for diverse beliefs, identities, and backgrounds ·Contribute to an anti-racist, anti-oppressive organisational culture and embed these principles across all work Ensure shared decision making with young people and colleagues in project development and internal organisational policies ·Build and maintain trusted relationships across the Peer Power Youth community and positively represent the Charity ·Work alongside operational team members, to ensure administrative aspects of the roles are fulfilled e.g. supporting the processing of DBS checks for young people ·Maintain organisational culture, by living the values of Peer Power and modelling healthy working practices and relationships ·Be a valued and proactive contributor to team development activities and core meetings ·Follow Peer Power’s policies and procedures ·Work flexibly around youth engagement activity including evenings and occasional weekends ·Ensure the proper use and security of all Peer Power Youth equipment Undertake any other duties and reasonable requests in keeping with the nature of this post and to support the charity.
