We’re looking for a compassionate and confident Lead Support Worker to join our team in the Melcombe Regis area of Weymouth, supporting a woman in her 30s who has learning disabilities and lives independently in her own home.
She uses a wheelchair and enjoys a full, active routine, including:
- Swimming and Aquafit at 1610 in Dorchester
- Dance classes
- Coffee trips and people-watching
- Listening to music
- Regular visits with family
In this role, you’ll ensure high-quality, person-centered care while also becoming a trusted guide for your colleagues. You’ll work closely with your locality manager and assistant locality manager, receiving strong support while helping shape a positive, inclusive team culture.
Your day-to-day work will be varied and meaningful. You’ll:
- Support independence, skill-building and personal choice
- Use approaches such as ActivateandActive Supportto set and achieve meaningful goals
- Assist with daily routines including personal care, medication, meal preparation, shopping and maintaining a comfortable home
- Coach and mentor support workers, sharing good practice and offering thoughtful feedback
- Contribute to reviews, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance
- Build strong relationships with families, circles of support and colleagues
