About us
Our purpose is simple: to do everything we can to save every one. Our crews risk their lives every day to save those in danger of drowning, and our volunteers tirelessly raise the funds we need to support them. We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to lead a talented team of Data Engineers focussed on our Digital Transformation Programme (DTP) and support the cloud-based technology that is central to making information the fuel for our organisation.
Your Role
As Lead Data Engineer, you will help us to transform the way the RNLI manages its information by
- Transforming the way, that we design, build and support our data products and services.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and define data requirements and user stories.
- Providing leadership to the team and the DTP programme, ensuring that we develop and maintain a best practice approach in use of the Departments capabilities to integrate systems, master data sets, and working in partnership with Applications, Analysis and Digital teams and other users in ensuring that we provision appropriate quality data that enables our desired analysis, applications and process outputs.
- Driving the Data Engineering's team adoption of a Data Ops approach to development lifecycles and championing the benefit this will bring to the RNLI.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has a sound grounding in data pipelines and Data Lakehouse systems, and wants to share their skills with others, leading and developing a small, but talented team.
