Introduction to the role
The Health and Social Act (2012) states that there is a requirement for all Health & Wellbeing Boards to produce a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) of the health and wellbeing of their local community.
The JSNA will provide essential information that will help Surrey’s local authorities and health systems to develop methods that will improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
We have been commissioned to work on the Physical Disability and Sensory Impairment (PDSI) JSNA to ensure that the voice of people with lived experience is reflected throughout the chapter.
Purpose of the role
The Lead Author will take the lead in developing the chapter. The Lead Author will work with key stakeholders across the county to structure the chapter as well as source relevant organisations and stakeholders that can contribute to the chapter. The Lead Author will have overall editorial responsibility.
Main responsibilities
· Lead the development of the chapter
· Works with contributing authors to produce content and has editorial responsibility for the chapter.
· Assist with identifying stakeholders and contributing authors
· Develop scope and structure of the chapter.
· Attend and update JSNA Working Group
· Communication messaging after publication to promote the chapter
