Landscape Architect at Tom Stuart-Smith Studio

Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is looking for a Landscape Architect with a master’s in landscape architecture to join its practice of 28 designers and support staff. The studio is based at Serge Hill, near St Albans, in a contemporary studio immersed in established gardens, with access to a new horticultural growing space, The Orchard.

You will be working on a variety of exciting public and private gardens, urban spaces, and historic landscapes in the UK and overseas.

Essential skills and attributes:
– Master’s in landscape architecture.
– 2 years’ experience in landscape design MINIMUM.
– Dedicated, organised, self-motivated and willing to work on a range of projects.
– Excellent communication and coordination skills, including the ability to sketch and develop designs on paper as well as digitally.
– Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team.
– Can work under pressure and to the highest standard for project deadlines.
– Strong skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
– Keeping abreast of professional developments and being open to learning and adjusting from feedback.
– Collaboration: Connecting with others to develop solutions. Identifying and communicating lessons learnt with other team members.
– Fluency in English language.
– Eligibility to work in the UK.

Tom Stuart-Smith Studio is a landscape design practice with an international reputation for making gardens that combine naturalism and modernity.

The practice was established in 1998. Work since has ranged from large gardens and parks open to the public, to smaller private gardens. Tom Stuart-Smith Studio has also designed nine award winning gardens for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, all of which were presented with gold medals and three ‘Best in Show’. Most projects are located in the UK and Europe, with a few undertaken further afield.
