This is anexcellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a dedicated and highly successful team.The Preparatory School includes specialist classrooms for Science and Food Technology, ICT, Music andLibrary, and with its own Sports Hall.  Our small class sizes allow for individual attention, and children are taught in bright, well-resourcedclassrooms with a range of ICT resources to enhance blended teaching and learning. Our Ratcliffe curriculumbroadly follows the National Curriculum and is broad and balanced. In EYFS and Year 1-5 the foundationsubjects are taught through a rich topic based creative curriculum. Subjects are then taught discretely in Year6. There is a specialist teacher to support children with special educational needs in a dedicated room andalso specialist Sport and Music teachers. In Year 6, children are also taught by specialist teachers from theSenior School for MFL, Science, Art, Design Technology, ICT, Music and Drama. This also helps the transitionbetween the Preparatory and the Senior School. Virtually all Year 6 pupils move onto the Senior School. Aswell as meeting National Curriculum subject requirements, all Key Stage 2 children learn some French andSpanish and there is considerable emphasis on subjects such as Physical Education and Music and our co-curricular programme. There is a very busy sports fixture programme for our pupils. There is also a programmeof educational day visits for all years to complement work done in the classroom. Years 3-6 also each havean annual residential trip.  An extended day is offered to pupils. The School Day is from 8.25am to 3.50pm (3.30pm for EYFS, Years 1and 2). Supervision is available from 8.00am and children many stay at school after 3.50pm until 6.00pm.They are provided with a snack and are able to complete their homework in school. Team practices andother co-curricular activities take place after school. All staff are expected to contribute to after school dutiesand co curricular activities. Ratcliffe College is a Catholic school and all staff are expected to support its aims and ethos and may berequired to teach the Diocesan approved RE syllabus. Teachers are required to attend school assemblies, ourregular class and whole school Masses. Professional development is taken seriously at Ratcliffe and members of staff are encouraged to preparethemselves for promotion at Ratcliffe and elsewhere. A full induction programme, which meets statutoryrequirements, is available for newly qualified teachers.  Salary: Ratcliffe Pay Scale plus Ratcliffe Allowance.
