- About us
Princess Alice Hospice is a charity supporting people in life, death and grief. We’re dedicated to working closely with individuals, communities and organisations in the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond and large parts of Surrey, to ensure more people receive the support they need.
About the roleWe are looking to recruit a Kitchen Porter to join our Catering team and help us deliver a high-quality meal service for our patients, visitors and staff. We are proud to hold a five-star food hygiene rating.
You’ll be part of a friendly, hardworking team responsible for ensuring the kitchen and food related areas are kept clean, well organised and safe.
Tasks include general cleaning, washing up, supporting basic food preparation, assisting with deliveries and helping set up refreshments for meetings. Full training will be provided, and previous experience in a catering environment is helpful but not essential. A basic understanding of food hygiene principles would be an advantage.
About youYou’ll bring a positive, can-do attitude and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. You enjoy working as part of a team, communicate clearly and follow instructions confidently. You are reliable, punctual and able to stay calm during busy periods. You’re comfortable carrying out physical tasks and willing to learn new skills, including food safety practices.
Above all, you share our values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, and you’re committed to helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Chris King (Catering Manager) chrisking@pah.org.uk

- Access to a Group Personal Pension Plan (provided by Scottish Widows) plus we also offer an Auto-enrolment pension with NEST. If you have been a member of the NHS Pension Scheme, you may be able to continue your contributions to that scheme during your time at Princess Alice Hospice.
- in-house laundry of uniforms, plus excellent changing facilities (with showers, fresh towels, and hairdryers)
- wellbeing care - we provide a programme of activities, opportunities, and guidance to inspire and support our employees to live a healthy life, at home and at work.
