Greenwich Waldorf School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Kindergarten Assistant Teacher with a Steiner Early Childhood Studies Diploma or at least a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. The hours of work are 08:30 to 13:30, Monday to Friday, term-time only. The position is until 10th July 2026 initially with the potential to become permanent.

Job Summary

To support children accessing the Kindergarten learning environment. You will work as an integral part of the team providing a nurturing, stimulating, home-like and sensory Waldorf environment for children for the three years of kindergarten: from their first separation from parents to their progression into class 1.

Your role includes providing opportunities for children to thrive, be happy and fulfil their potential.

Main Responsibilities;

1. To support the children in Kindergarten and to help maintain the Kindergarten environment.

2. To be alert to the safety and well-being of all children and report any concerns immediately.

3. To contribute to the organisation and running of the Kindergarten and work as part of a team of teachers and LSA's.

4. To attend to the needs of the children and to maintain the rhythm of the Kindergarten.

5. To support the children with craft and domestic activities; support listening skills in story-time and be actively engaged with the content of ring time; learning the songs and gestures.

6. To attend weekly faculty meetings as part of the Early Years Team.

7. Support at whole school events.
