 4.5 hours per week Outdoor Learning Assistant - term time only

 National Living Wage - £12.20ph

 Ideally the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience
 (possibly as a parent) of early year’s education in a Steiner Waldorf
 school, and a specific interest and experience in outdoor education. An
 interest and joy in working with young children is essential.

 You will be expected to work under the guidance of the Gardening/
 Outdoor Teacher / Afternoon Care who will direct you regarding your
 work with the children. This work will include:
 1) Practical assistance e.g.

 ●

 Setting up and clearing away activities
 Preparing the outdoor classroom

 2) Working with the children as directed by the teacher e.g.

 ●
 ●
 ●
 ●

 Helping individual or small groups with activities
 Facilitating activities
 Helping children manage their behaviour.
 Overseeing outside play.

 3) Meeting with the teachers outside your working hours will
 occasionally be necessary
 5) You are welcome to attend the whole school training days and
 relevant staff  meetings.
 Any other duties as may be required from time to time

 The Headteacher, Gardening teacher and the HR support take
 responsibility for providing induction, mentoring and appraisal.

 On a day to day basis the Subject Lead Assistants will be managed by
 the Headteacher and supported by the School Leadership Group
