About the role

Keyboard Specialist Arts Educator

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly skilled Keyboard Specialist to join our team of arts educators. This is an exciting opportunity to work with individual, small-group and ensembles teaching across Dudley schools and our thriving evening Music School at Cable Plaza.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished keyboard player with excellent musical knowledge, a broad understanding of music theory and musicianship, strong communication skills and a passion for developing young people’s musical potential. The role is a permanent contract of 3 days (18 hours) teaching, including some evening work at Cable Plaza. Arts Educators are automatically enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme with an additional monthly payment for teachers holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

You will deliver:

  • One-to-one and small-group keyboard tuition in schools and colleges
  • Evening teaching at our state-of-the-art Music School based at Cable Plaza
  • High-quality learning experiences for children and young people of all ages and abilities
  • Weekly rehearsals and performance opportunities through a keyboard ensemble
  • Support for Dudley Performing Arts’ wider programme of music education

Our tutors work with over 90% of schools across Dudley, delivering an exciting and inclusive programme of music education. All Arts Educator contracts include a 20% flexible fixed-term element, which helps accommodate annual changes in school timetables and service demand while providing greater stability for staff and the organisation.

While teaching experience is desirable, we are equally committed to supporting talented musicians who are new to music education. If you have excellent musical skills and a passion for inspiring the next generation, we would love to hear from you.

How to Apply

Ideally, the successful candidate will commence employment from 2nd November 2026, although an alternative start date may be agreed for the right candidate.
