Sidney Sussex College, is seeking to appoint a Junior Sous Chef. Reporting to the Head Chef, this post offers an exciting opportunity to work within a professional catering team and gain experience running a section within our newly refurbished busy kitchen.

The role of Junior Sous Chef is to assist the Head and Senior Chefs to provide an efficient and professional catering service to the College. The successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate how to prepare, cook and present great tasting food from fresh ingredients. Applicants should possess excellent communication and team workings skills along with a recognised food and hygiene qualification.

This is a permanent, full-time post averaging 40 hours per week, worked across a 2-week shift system which includes working alternate weekends, some flexibility is required. The salary is based at point 28 on the Sidney Sussex salary spine is currently equating to £32,986 per annum.

Benefits include an annual leave entitlement of 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme provided by the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), free College meals when on duty and free use of the College’s gym facilities. The College is also closed over the Christmas period.
