An exciting opportunity to join Certitude as a Junior Maintenance Surveyor as we continue to grow.

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum (depending on experience / qualifications)

Hours: 37.5 hours

Job Type: Permanent – Full time

Department: Housing

About the role

The role of a Junior Maintenance Surveyor is to ensure that all properties that are owned or managed by Certitude are maintained to such a standard that they are fit for purpose , safe and compliant with relevant legislation.

Duties will include:

  • To conduct pre- and post-inspection surveys on properties to identify repair needs, damp/mould issues, or structural damage.
  • To manage "voids" (empty properties) ensuring they are repaired and prepared for new occupants within strict timelines
  • Oversee the performance of contractors and the approved contractors list to ensure contractors carry out repairs and maintenance to a high quality and within budget.
  • Liaise with residents (people we support), colleagues, managers, external contractors and suppliers to ensure the delivery of escalated repairs is effectively managed.
  • Issuing repair orders to contractors and tracking progress.

About you

To be a Junior Maintenance Surveyor at Certitude, the following are essential:

  • HNC/HND or BSc in Building Studies, Building Surveying, or a related construction field.
  • Experience in building maintenance, repair diagnosis, or construction.
  • Understanding of building pathology, building fabrics, and repair methods.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and client management.
  • Excellent Intermediate IT skills and able to use programmes such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • An understanding of the construction industry, including trades, materials, processes and safety.
