Junior IT Project Manager

As a Junior IT Project Manager at RBG Kew, you will help deliver technology projects that enable organisational change and support Kew’s strategy to understand and protect plants and fungi. Working with the Senior IT Project Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of multiple capital-funded projects, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost and quality standards. This is a one-year fixed-term appointment and will involve working across Kew Gardens (London) and Wakehurst (Sussex) as required.

Educated to degree level (or with equivalent relevant experience), you will have experience delivering technology-based projects involving multiple teams and diverse stakeholder groups, including projects that drive procedural and/or business change. You will be confident applying best-practice project management approaches (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile and/or MSP), and comfortable using technology with an interest in emerging trends.

You will be an organised, proactive communicator who can build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior managers, technical specialists and external suppliers. You will be able to maintain project plans, manage risks and issues, support financial control and reporting, and contribute to robust governance and documentation. Experience of government-funded projects, public sector environments, or Microsoft platforms such as Office 365, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, SQL Server, Power BI or Project Online is desirable.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

The salary for this position is £39,243 - £45,064 per annum, depending on skills and experience [Band D].
