Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days in office, Sale Manchester UK (dependent on location)

Reports to: Business Intelligence Manager

Salary: £28,000

What’s the secret to our success? Simply put, we do things differently here! We’re looking for a highly motivated Junior Data Analyst to join our growing Business Improvement team. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking growth as you will play a crucial part in steering data driven decision making and supporting our organisation's strategic goals. You will be responsible for collecting, cleansing, organising, and profiling data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and reliability.


Additionally, you will work closely with our Business Analysts and the wider Business Improvement and Finance teams to provide valuable insights and support the company's projects. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in data or science fields, coupled with a passion for data analysis and a keen eye for detail.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Improvement team in day-to-day tasks, including data collection, cleansing, organisation, and profiling across key platforms.
  • Support in-depth data analysis to discover insights, identify trends, and recognise opportunities relevant to the apprenticeship and vocational sectors.
  • Contribute to and maintain internal query documentation and data resources for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Support the continuous improvement, revamping, and maintenance of existing dashboards to enhance accuracy and efficiency in operational reporting
  • Build and refine dashboard pages to actively monitor key SLAs and support internal delivery teams.
  • Ensure data integrity and standardisation across all reports and dashboards, making improvements based on user feedback and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by managing data submissions and improving processes to meet standards set by governing bodies.
  • Provide training and support to teams across the business and externally on how to use data dashboards, ensuring everyone can interpret and use data effectively.
  • Support the Business Improvement team in identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Support other departments with ad-hoc data requests and related tasks as required.
  • Synthesise complex datasets into high-level, word-based strategic analysis reports (such as market share analysis, competitor tracking, and provider risk summaries) to provide the executive team with clear, actionable insights.

Key Requirements

  • A keen interest in data, technology, and business improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on building structured logic to work through roadblocks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including a focus on cleanly annotating code for long-term clarity.
  • Enthusiasm to learn new things and take on challenges.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft products particularly Excel with the ability to summarise and present complex data in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Experience or understanding of data visualisation, data transformation, and workflow tools like: Power Automate, Power Query and Power BI.
