The role:
Working closely with our external IT support provider, you will act as the internal first point of contact for routine IT queries, supporting colleagues with day-to-day technical issues, managing user access, and helping to maintain secure and efficient systems across the organisation.
This is a part-time role 20 hours per week to be spread across the week Monday – Friday (no weekends) but there will be flexibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line IT support for routine hardware, software, and access issues.
- Carry out password resets, account unlocks, and basic user account administration.
- Support staff with access to Microsoft 365 services, systems, and applications.
- Maintain accurate records of users, licences, devices, and access permissions.
- Set up and remove IT access for starters and leavers in line with organisational policies.
- Monitor and manage IT support tickets, escalating more complex issues where needed.
- Work with the external IT provider to help resolve issues and improve service delivery.
- Support cyber security awareness, system compliance, and safe IT practices.
- Assist with IT projects, system improvements, and technology rollouts across services.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Approachable, methodical, and confident supporting colleagues with routine IT queries.
- You should have a relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical experience, along with familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- You will also need a basic understanding of IT systems, hardware and software support, user account management, access controls, and cyber security principles.
- Strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.
- Experience in a helpdesk or service desk environment.
- Knowledge of Cyber Essentials.
- Previous work in a regulated or care-based setting would be advantageous, but are not essential.
