Cheyne's IR team plays a central role in managing and developing relationships with the firm's global investor base, as well as communicating the firm's investment strategies to existing and prospective clients. The team acts as a key bridge between Cheyne's investment capabilities and its investors, ensuring they are well-informed, well-served and engaged with the firm.
This internship is designed to be an immersive learning experience for someone with a genuine interest in IR and alternative investment management. The intern will work closely with the broader IR team and gain real exposure to the day-to-day workings of a leading alternative asset manager.

Key Responsibilities
Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and updating investor databases, ensuring data is accurate, consistent and up to date.
- Supporting the team in organising and visualising data using Tableau and Excel to aid reporting and analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation and updating of standard investor responses, DDQs and other investor communications.
- Developing familiarity with Cheyne's core investment strategies.
- Attending internal team meetings to gain an understanding of how the IR function operates day-to-day
- Collaborating with other teams across the firm on projects that connect back to the IR function.
- Spending time embedded within other key teams across the firm including Compliance, Risk Management, Investment Teams, Middle Office and Fund Accounting, to build a broader understanding of how an alternative asset manager operates end-to-end.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Cheyne is looking for a highly motivated and professional intern with an interest in financial markets, IR and alternative investment management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, curious about IR function and ready to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Accuracy: Demonstrable high levels of accuracy and analytical ability. Meticulous attention to detail is essential, particularly when handling investor data and reporting materials.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to contribute to investor-facing materials and internal discussions.
- IT: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is advantageous, as is any exposure to data visualisation tools such as Tableau. That said, a willingness to learn is the most important thing, we will provide full training on all the tools and systems needed.
- Numerical: Comfortable working with data and numbers, with an ability to understand and articulate fund and portfolio information in a clear and accurate manner.
- Motivated: An enthusiastic and flexible approach, ready to take on a variety of tasks as priorities evolve. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn across teams and subject areas is key.
- Organised: Strong organisational skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Collaborative: A team player who is comfortable working across different functions and building relationships at all levels of the firm.
