Interim Support Events and Digital Community Manager (12 month fixed-term contract) Closing date: 13 January 1 Job title: Interim Support Events and Digital Community Manager Reports to: Head of Services Location: Hours: We currently offer a hybrid-working model. This means you may usually work from your home or remote location, but are expected to attend meetings and pay for your own travel to the office in London Bridge, London when required. Full time 1 year fixed term contract (maternity cover), 35 hours per week 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. The charity has a core hours policy with core hours of 10am – 4pm and flexibility around remaining hours. We’re fighting for a world where everyone with ovarian cancer lives, and we’re targeting what’s important - symptoms awareness, early diagnosis, better treatments and support for all. 2 My favourite thing about working at Target Ovarian Cancer is definitely the people – it’s an absolute pleasure to be part of such a passionate and dedicated team who are super friendly and fun to work with!” - Hayley, Head of Digital 3 Online communities and support events • Lead on the planning, delivery, evaluation and development and promotion of our online community and digital (and where relevant in-person) support events programme to ensure as many people affected by ovarian cancer know about and attend our events. • Manage the online community and peer-to-peer support programme, including moderation, content, promotion, evaluation and development to ensure as many people affected by ovarian cancer know about and join our online community. • Line manage the Events and Digital Communities Officer to ensure the consistent quality of this activity. Deliver one-to-ones and appraisals, identify areas of development for reports and support their development through mentoring and coaching. • Lead on the ‘digital champions’ programme, providing volunteer management and support. • Develop new ways of reaching our community through developing the charity’s approach to volunteering. • Ensure relevant pages on the website are up to date, useful, engaging and well promoted. • Work with colleagues to develop and deliver our annual programme of evaluation. • Facilitate the involvement of women with ovarian cancer and their families in other areas of the organisation such as social media, parliamentary events, focus groups and awareness raising – proactively identifying opportunities to cross-promote our services and engage with new audiences. • Share responsibility for monitoring the shared inbox, and work with colleagues to ensure there is always cover for the organisation’s Support Line, providing triage for incoming calls and arranging for transfer to or callback from one of our Nurse Advisers. Resource management • Review procedures and workflow processes to aid efficient and effective working, championing the use of data to aid insight and delivery. • Effectively manage resources across the team including co-coordinating with cross-organisational projects/needs. • Manage the relevant sections of the budget, including phasing, re-forecasting, and working with the Head of services to develop business plans and budgets for future work. • Recruit new team members and volunteers when required. 4 Other • Keep up to date with relevant health and information initiatives as well as research on ovarian cancer that impacts our work. This includes changes to guidance from the Department of Health, NICE, NHS England and the Patient Information Forum (PIF). • Work with the Fundraising Team to provide information and updates for funding bids and communications. • Undertake other appropriate assignments within the wider organisation as required in line with the broad remit of the role.
