About the role

This distinctive role combines interim leadership in benefices experiencing transition with archidiaconal responsibilities across a diverse area of urban, market-town and rural communities.

Working alongside the Bishop of Stafford and the Archdeacon of Stoke-upon-Trent, you will help churches navigate change, discern fresh vision, strengthen governance and prepare for sustainable future ministry.

We are seeking someone with substantial parish experience, a heart for mission and evangelism, strong skills in leading change and renewal, and the ability to build confidence and trust across a range of church traditions and contexts; someone who works collaboratively and collegially with clergy and lay leaders, works to resolve conflict and offers wise pastoral leadership.

The Diocese of Lichfield is committed to being a Church that is confident in the gospel, loves its communities and is excited to find God already at work in the world. We are looking for someone who shares that vision and can help equip our churches for the future.
