Interim Communications & PR Officer (1 year fixed term contract)

Do you have the passion and storytelling skills to amplify our ambitious plans to improve the lives of everyone affected by ovarian cancer? Could you play a pivotal role in bringing our work to life through powerful case stories, compelling content and engaging communications that inspire action and raise awareness?

We're looking for an Interim Communications & PR Officer to join our brilliant marketing and communications team on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on creating impactful content, building relationships, and working collaboratively across an organisation to deliver meaningful communications.

In this role, you’ll take the lead on developing and managing a library of real life stories from people affected by ovarian cancer, ensuring their voices are heard in a way that is sensitive, authentic and impactful.

You’ll create high quality written content across a range of channels – from website copy and emails to reports and campaign materials – helping to engage and inform audiences and support organisational objectives

You’ll also play a key role in managing relationships with supporters, including celebrities and influencers, identifying opportunities to amplify our work and increase our reach.

A creative, empathetic and highly organised individual, you’ll be confident working with people with lived experience and handling sensitive stories with care. You’ll enjoy collaborating with colleagues across teams and be motivated to continuously improve how we communicate, ensuring our messages are clear, compelling and impactful.

With the support of the Interim Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll contribute to delivering communications that engage more people with our work – whether that’s using our services, campaigning for change, or supporting us through fundraising and partnerships.

INTERIM COMMUNICATIONS AND PR OFFICER | JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is a full time, 35 hours per week, interim position (1 year fixed term contract).

We currently offer a hybrid-working model. This means you may usually work from your home or remote location, but are expected to attend meetings and pay for your own travel to the office near London Bridge when required.

Brand Manager (Part-time, Permanent)

Are you our new Brand Manager?

Do you have the passion and creative vision to amplify our ambitious plans to improve the lives of everyone affected by ovarian cancer? Could you play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening our brand, ensuring it inspires action and helps more people connect with and support our work?

We're looking for a Brand Manager who will bring their creative expertise, strong eye for detail and collaborative approach to our brilliant marketing and communications team. This is a great role for someone with experience in brand or marketing who is looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity with a leading national charity.

A creative and driven individual who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, you’ll be passionate about building a clear, consistent and impactful brand. You’ll act as the guardian of our identity, ensuring that Target Ovarian Cancer’s brand is used effectively and creatively across all channels and by all teams.

With the support of the Interim Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll lead on developing and delivering high-quality design and brand assets, managing our Brand Hub and helping colleagues apply our brand confidently and consistently.

You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to coordinate marketing activity, develop plans and ensure everything we produce aligns with our wider strategy and objectives.

You’ll also play a key role in managing creative processes – from designing assets in-house to overseeing work with external agencies – as well as maintaining our photography and video library to ensure all visual content reflects our brand and values.

Collaborative, organised and full of ideas, you’ll be confident managing multiple projects, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and supporting others to understand and champion our brand. Most importantly, you’ll be motivated to help us communicate more effectively, so we can engage more people to use our services, campaign for change, and support us through fundraising and partnerships.

Chair of Trustees

We are seeking an exceptional new Chair to help lead the organisation through a defining and ambitious new phase. Our purpose is to identify and target the biggest challenges in ovarian cancer so that it doesn’t limit life.

With a newly defined strategy and growing national focus on women’s health, this is a pivotal moment for the charity. Over the next five years, we will focus on improving earlier diagnosis, reducing inequalities, widening access to treatment and support, and strengthening our influence across the health system.

We are looking for a Chair who can provide strategic leadership, sound judgement and constructive challenge while working in close partnership with the CEO and Board. The successful candidate will help guide organisational direction, support key stakeholder and fundraising relationships, and act as an ambassador for the charity externally.

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Senior leadership and Board-level experience
  • Strong strategic and commercial judgement
  • Experience leading through growth, change or transformation
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders and external audiences
  • A collaborative and emotionally intelligent leadership style

The time commitment is approximately 1–2 days per month.

This is an opportunity to chair an ambitious organisation focused on delivering meaningful change for women affected by ovarian cancer.
