Insurance Officer
Sanctuary House - Worcester
£33,397 per year
35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Temporary position for up to 12 months
We are looking to recruit an Insurance Officer to join our Insurance team based in Worcester. You should have previous experience in insurance and civil claims having previously worked in an insurance or legal environment. Working closely within a team of 11 people, you will be part of a specialist team that manages all of Sanctuary's diverse insurance requirements, from arranging quotations, placing cover, handling claims and offering technical advice to the business.
The role of Insurance Officer will include:
- Handling claims under any of the company's insurance portfolio which includes and is not limited to, legal liability, property and motor claims
- Providing accurate and reliable advice to internal staff on insurance cover, civil and general claims and insurance related topics
- Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, including brokers, insurance providers, loss adjusters and solicitors
- Assisting with production of high quality management information on service levels, claims, insurance policy cover and market trends to assist target setting, risk management, performance monitoring and implementation of improvements
- Developing and maintaining sufficient knowledge of current legislation, best practice, policies and procedures to enable support of high quality insurance service provisions
Skills and experiences:
- Literacy and numeracy equivalent to passes in GCSE English and Maths
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role either in an insurance or legal environment
- Previous experience of working within an insurance environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and analyse referrals to ensure a successful resolution is reached
- Practical experience of providing quality advice and guidance on insurance related issues
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages, including Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams
