A part time vacancy has arisen for an Information Assistant at our Camden Library

As part of a small team the post holder will staff our library helpdesk, providing customers with a high quality service and helping to maintain an environment conducive to academic study.

Duties will include:

Issue, return and renewal of books
Assisting users in finding and accessing library resources and services
Taking payments
Answering queries by telephone, email, service portal, webchat and in person
Shelving and tidying book shelves
General administrative tasks

The successful candidate:

Will have proven customer service skills and experience working in a library environment; experience in the Higher Education sector is desirable
Will be competent in the use of computer software in a work environment (such as Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Library Management Systems, Helpdesk ticketing systems)
Will be an effective communicator
Will be able to prioritise own workload whilst balancing the demands of the service
