Safeline is seeking an Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to join our award-winning team. This rewarding role involves providing practical and emotional support to survivors of sexual abuse, helping them feel safe, regain confidence, and reclaim power and control over their lives.
Working as part of our friendly and supportive ISVA team within an award-winning ISVA department you will also be an integral member of the wider Safeline team. You will assess the needs of victims of sexual abuse and their families. You will develop and implement individual client support plans and provide on-going face to face and telephone support to clients and their supporters.
For clients who choose to report a crime, you will offer specialist advocacy and guidance, supporting them through the criminal justice system from reporting to court proceedings and beyond. You will also build and maintain positive and highly effective working relationships with key partner agencies including the police and CPS.

£28,000 per annum (increasing subject to relevant qualifications)

You will carry and actively manage a caseload of adult clients, providing consistent, high-quality advocacy from referral through to the conclusion of their case.
Manage an agreed client caseload, subject to demand and reviewed regularly.
Provide effective support by contacting all clients referred to Safeline within 24 hours, if possible, to undertake a risk assessment and support needs analysis and to help the client keep safe.
Develop and implement individual client plans to address the needs identified by the risk assessment and needs analysis and help them access the services they require and are entitled to. Ensure up-to date knowledge of the full range of services available to clients.
Offer information and advice to clients seeking support with reporting a crime. If they choose to report, support them through the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within the system and keep the client informed of case progress.
Maintain a clear understanding of the myths and facts of sexual violence, long-term mental health effects of sexual violence, self-harm and suicidal feelings and attempts.
Maintain and monitor accurate records of all individual client cases.
Follow agreed policies, processes and procedures and within our accreditation protocols to ensure the client is kept at the heart of everything we do, that they receive the support they require to take control of their lives, that you maintain agreed levels of confidentiality and that demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of the organisation.
