The Role

The Audit & Risk Management Committee is central to the organisation’s success. It provides robust oversight, challenge, and assurance across financial governance, internal controls, risk management, compliance, and reporting.

As Independent Chair, you will:

  • Provide confident, strategic leadership to the Audit & Risk Management Committee
  • Strengthen risk management, internal control, and financial transparency across the organisation
  • Support regulatory compliance and best-practice governance
  • Work closely with Trustees, Governors, and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Bring an independent, objective perspective that supports sound decision-making
  • Help safeguard the charity’s assets, reputation, and mission

This role plays a key part in ensuring Remarkable remains resilient, accountable, and well-governed as we continue to grow.

We are seeking an individual who brings integrity, curiosity, and sound judgement, alongside:

  • A strong commitment to improving outcomes for autistic young people
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide constructive challenge
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to deep-dive when needed
  • An interest in learning and developing within a complex, mission-led organisation

Previous experience in audit, risk, finance, governance, or regulated environments is beneficial, but what matters most is alignment with our values and a commitment to high-quality oversight.
