Incumbent (0.5)
St Paul, Kersal Moor & St Andrew, Carr Clough
The Bishop of Manchester and the Diocesan Patronage Board seek a new 0.5 incumbent for this Evangelical two-church benefice situated in an a largely residential area in Salford, not far from central Manchester, and part of the Deanery of Bury & Rossendale.
St Paul’s, Kersal Moor and St Andrew, Carr Clough are welcoming, vibrant churches for all ages that share a parish vision to grow in depth, numbers, grace and wisdom – with a clear aspiration to ‘Know God through Jesus, Grow in Faith and Show God’s love in our community.’
The incumbent will receive strong support from ordained and lay colleagues, including a parish administrator, as well as an active PCC, as we look to implement our Mission Action Plan in line with our Parish Vision and the Diocesan Vision to be a growing, worshipping, transforming Christian presence at the heart of every community.
We are looking for an Interim Minister with the following qualities:
- A faithful, prayerful teacher and preacher, passionate about supporting people to grow deeper in their relationship with God.
- A priest committed to being a visible and active presence in the parish and wider community.
- A collaborative leader who can work with the PCC and ministry team to run the parish effectively, and to build on and implement the Mission Action Plan in line with the Parish and Diocesan Vision.
- Someone enthusiastic in encouraging, developing and releasing the gifts and talents of all ages, and eager to nurture vocations lay and ordained.
- Someone with a heart for engaging young families and developing stronger links with the local schools.
We welcome applications from all candidates, noting that the post might work well
for a priest also serving in another 0.5 role such as chaplaincy, or who seeks to balance an additional personal time commitment to research or writing projects
or to family or carer responsibilities.
