Are you a driven, creative fundraiser who thrives on turning ideas into impact? We have the perfect opportunity !
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Income Generation and Events Lead to play a key role in shaping and delivering our income generation strategy across Society Matters Group (SMG). This is an exciting new role that will significantly contribute to our long-term financial sustainability and the continued growth of our impact.
What you'll be doing
You’ll work closely with our Group Head of Income Generation and Events to bring in funding across the Group. A big part of the role is writing strong, persuasive applications for grants, trusts, tenders and contracts — making sure we secure the funding we need while clearly showing the impact of our work and covering our costs properly. You’ll also support with recommissioning contracts and submitting tenders.
Alongside bid writing, you’ll lead on fundraising events and help develop corporate engagement activity across the group. You’ll work with our marketing team to create engaging campaigns and motivate supporters. We’re looking for someone who can bring energy, ideas and confidence to the role — someone who can inspire colleagues and isn’t afraid to try new approaches. You’ll also step in for the Group Head of Income Generation and Events when needed.
What we're looking for
We need someone who is naturally curious and always on the lookout for new opportunities. You’ll research potential funders, spot emerging income streams and help shape our annual income plans. Building positive relationships will be key — whether that’s with funders, partners, colleagues or senior leaders. You’ll also help keep everyone updated on how we’re performing against our income targets.
You’ll have a solid track record of securing funding through grants, trusts and tenders, and experience using procurement or grant portals. You’ll be a strong communicator who can adapt your style for different audiences and write clearly and persuasively. Good organisation, time management and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities.
This role offers a stimulating and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of our mission through innovative income generation and well managed events. Candidates who are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative, target-driven environment are encouraged to apply.
