The Impact & Learning Officer plays a key operational role within the Impact & Learning function at the David Nott Foundation, supporting the day-to-day implementation of MEAL systems, data management, and the administration of the Foundation’s Learning Management System (Docebo). The role is the primary point of contact for data collection across programme delivery teams and country-level staff, ensuring monitoring practices are consistently applied and data flows accurately into centralised systems.

Working closely with the Impact & Learning Manager, the Officer supports the production of evaluations, after action reports, and learning outputs that strengthen the Foundation’s evidence base and inform continuous improvement across all programmes.

Responsibilities

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEAL) – ~60%

MEAL implementation

  • Support the implementation of MEAL frameworks across programmes and projects, working under the guidance of the Impact & Learning Manager.
  • Act as the primary contact for data collection across programme delivery teams and country-level staff, ensuring consistent monitoring practices are applied across all training activities.
  • Maintain programme indicator tracking tools and monitoring datasets, keeping records accurate and up to date throughout the programme cycle.
  • Support programme teams and country staff in understanding and meeting monitoring data requirements, providing guidance and follow-up as needed.

Data management

  • Clean, organise, and maintain programme datasets, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and stored in centralised systems in line with the Foundation’s data governance standards.
  • Maintain and update internal databases, monitoring trackers, and indicator records.
  • Ensure data collected from country teams and programme activities is validated, filed, and accessible for reporting and analysis.

Data analysis

  • Conduct routine analysis of programme and training data, identifying trends in participant feedback, learning outcomes, and programme indicators.
  • Prepare clear data summaries to support internal learning and donor reporting.
  • Present data findings clearly and accessibly to non-specialist audiences, including programme teams and senior staff.

Evaluation & after-action support

  • Coordinate pre- and post-training assessments and surveys for participants and faculty.
  • Compile and analyse evaluation results for internal review, reporting, and learning integration.
  • Support the coordination and documentation of After Action Reviews (AARs) following programme delivery, working with Operations and country teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of MEAL reports and internal learning outputs, drafting sections and compiling evidence as directed by the Impact & Learning Manager.

Learning Management System (LMS) & Content Support – ~40%

LMS administration

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the operational management of the Foundation’s Learning Management System (Docebo), ensuring the platform is well maintained and functions effectively for all users.
  • Set up courses, manage participant enrolment, and provide faculty with timely access to course materials and learning resources.
  • Upload, organise, and maintain pre-course and post-course learning materials, ensuring content is correctly structured and accessible.
  • Ensure programme content and activity data is accurately reflected within the LMS in line with standards set by the Impact & Learning Manager.

Training evaluation systems

  • Integrate and manage training evaluation tools within the LMS.
  • Extract, organise, and present training evaluation data to support analysis and reporting by the Impact & Learning Manager.

Administrative support

  • Work collaboratively across the team to provide administrative and operational support that enables delivery of key organisational objectives and programme initiatives, including travel coordination, logistics, and external liaison.

Person specification

Essential

  • Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation, or data analysis in programmes or projects.
  • Strong skills in data organisation, analysis, and visualisation (Excel or equivalent tools).
  • Experience designing, managing, and following up on surveys and monitoring datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate data findings clearly and accessibly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, including through written summaries and visual formats.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with programme teams, country staff, and other stakeholders across different contexts.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), ideally Docebo or a similar platform.
  • Experience supporting training programmes or education initiatives, particularly in design, evaluation, or administration.
  • Experience working in global health, humanitarian, or international development contexts.
