Job Description

Female South Asian Immigration Adviser/solicitor
We are recruiting for a qualified Immigration Advisor IAA L3 (OISC L3) or qualified solicitor.
You will be required to manage a complex caseload and will support securing the immigration status of women in our refuges in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the London Borough of Brent.
You should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the legal field and in areas such as immigration law, family law, domestic violence and abuse, welfare benefits and housing, and providing legal advice and advocacy to South Asian/ BME women who have experienced domestic abuse.
You will have up-to-date working knowledge of Home Office policies relating to domestic abuse, including the Migration Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession.
The role includes drop-in and advice surgeries.
We will consider applicants looking for a part -time role for a minimum of 21 hours per week, (salary will be pro-rata to reflect reduced hours).
Fluency in at least one South Asian language is essential (Urdu/ Punjabi preferred)
Due to the sensitive nature of this role it is advertised in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9 part 1).
