Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with managers and making a genuine difference through great people practice?
We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to work closely with leaders and managers across our services. This is a pivotal role where you’ll provide proactive, values‑led, restorative HR support, and help shape an inclusive, high performing and compassionate workplace.
What you’ll be doing
This is a varied, hands‑on place-based business partnering role where relationships, judgement and impact really matter. In an average week you could be:
- Partnering with managers to provide end‑to‑end HR advice and guidance.
- Supporting complex employee and volunteer relations matters, using a restorative, coaching‑led approach.
- Acting as a trusted advisor and critical friend, offering challenge, insight and practical solutions.
- Supporting workforce planning, role design and organisational change initiatives.
- Using people data and insight to identify themes, risks and development needs.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of management capability and people frameworks.
- Working closely with People Team colleagues to deliver a seamless, high‑quality HR service.
- Representing the People Team in cross‑hospice working groups.
What you will need
To thrive in this role, you’ll be an experienced HR professional comfortable leading complex ER cases as part of a small, collaborative team. You’ll bring:
- Significant experience in a senior generalist HR or HR Business Partner role
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and employee relations practice
- A coaching, restorative and values‑led approach to people management
- Strong relationship‑building and communication skills and the confidence to influence at all levels
- The ability to manage complexity with empathy, professionalism and sound judgement
- Very strong administration and IT skills, including Microsoft applications with a ninja like attention to detail and ability to administer your own processes end to end
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience of supporting through change
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be driven by our cause and enjoy working in a fast paced environment with a supportive, hard working team, while also enjoying the autonomy and ownership that comes with being fully accountable for your own areas of work.
You’ll join a supportive, committed People Team where your expertise is valued and your contribution is visible. We work together with passion and pride in an environment where people are caring, considerate, inclusive and welcoming. It can be tough. We don’t shy away from that. But you’ll clearly see the importance and impact of your work and feel recognised and part of something remarkable.
