An exciting opportunity has arisen to join VSA as an HR Business Partner supporting our amazing services deliver the best of care.

VSA operates across the full spectrum of social care and support children, young people, adults and older adults. We support people from birth to end of life across a range of residential and community-based outreach support services. Now more than ever, more people need our help and support.

We have a diverse range of services and a diverse workforce, we therefore seek an experienced HR Business Partner who can work independently and pro-actively to effectively deliver the People Management agenda. Reporting directly to the HR Manager - HR & Recruitment you will work in partnership supporting internal stakeholders, developing, leading and managing the People Management Agenda.

You will be a key driver of change and implementation of the people agenda behind key, organisational objectives as well as supporting the internal stakeholders in achieving its service specific aims and objectives.

You will provide expert advice and guidance on a range of complex people issues to minimise risk and financial exposure, coaching and advising key stakeholder to improve capability. We are looking for someone who can challenge, support and influence at all levels and provide clear direction to the business to ensure business/functional needs are met.


Salary: Up to £40k dependant on experience

Hours: 35 per week

HR Business Partner

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • A single point of point of contact for Line Managers for all HR management issues in accordance with statutory requirements and VSA policies and procedures, thereby contributing to consistency and fairness in the management of people throughout the organisation.
  • Building strong and mutually supportive relationships with internal stakeholders, based on mutual respect and challenge.
  • Actively identifying key issues, gaps and opportunities for the service, incorporating these in the service specific People Management Agenda.
  • Supports the attraction, retention and development of talent within their services, including spotting potential and developing succession plans, as appropriate.
  • Supports performance improvement and, provokes positive changes in people management, supporting managers in acquiring skills and knowledge to ensure that they manage their teams in line with best practice.
  • Supporting stakeholders with the management of complex and difficult HR matters.
  • Participating in the development of relevant HR metrics to underpin the development of effective staff retention and reward strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining current and accurate documentation of key issues and, progress against these, across HR BP Portfolio
  • Supporting the maintenance of an effective and integrated HR/Payroll filing system, ensuring that data is processed according to regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Developing and monitoring systems in relation to requirements concerning staff registration with regulatory bodies, contributing to the processing of data where appropriate.
  • Supporting recruitment with the staff vetting procedures in respect of criminal convictions and related issues, according to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with the effective monitoring and coordination of processes relating to the integrated HR/Payroll system.
  • Managing own time and resources effectively to meet needs of department/organization, taking responsibility for own personal/professional development.
  • Contributing towards monitoring compliance with health, safety, and security requirements in workplace.
  • Be a Level 1 User on sponsorship management system
  • Any other reasonable duties which may occur from time to time, including the provision of cover for HR colleagues when necessary.


Qualifications/Training/Education:

CIPD chartered membership (or evidence of commensurate experience at a senior level)


Experience:

Experience of supervising/advising people in the workplace

Broad and generalist HR experience.

Sound knowledge of employment law.
