Housing & Support Worker (Move-On)
Could you support people to move on to independent living after homelessness?
Emmaus Oxford is recruiting for an exciting new role of Housing & Support Worker (Move-On).
This is a key role in our strategy to help more people into employment and long-term settled accommodation, working closely with our Community Manager and Learning & Development Manager.
We are looking for the right person to take on delivering support and housing management for our new Move-on houses at 167 & 169 Oxford Road, Oxford. These properties have been under major redevelopment over the last 12 months and are nearing completion. The post holder will be expected to take a lead in the setting up of the project and developing policy, procedures and operational practices.
The role
The Housing & Support worker will provide support to up to 8 residents who will have been ‘companions’ of Emmaus Oxford, who are moving into employment and ready to take the first steps towards more independence. We are aiming for residents to stay in the move-on houses for up to 12 months before moving to more settled housing.
The Housing and Support worker will also provide ongoing support to ex-companions of Emmaus Oxford who have moved directly into more settled accommodation on a visiting/floating support basis. Therefore, this role may involve some travelling within Oxfordshire and ideally the candidate should have a full, clean driving licence.
This fixed term role is funded for 12 months, but we hope to be able to extend it. The successful candidate will have some flexibility on the hours and days of work with an expectation that they work hours that meet the needs of residents. Due to the residents being in employment there may be some evening or weekend working required.
