Housing Support Worker
Barnardo's 16+ Housing Support Service works alongside young people aged 16 and over who require support to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently.
As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to young people, helping them to achieve positive outcomes in areas such as housing, education, employment, training, health and wellbeing. You will build trusting relationships and work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure young people receive the support they need to thrive.

A few of our Key Task for this role include:
- To be responsible for managing the work associated with young people accommodated in the core units, ‘satellite' flats, and in their own tenancies.
- To be responsible when on shift for the running of the core units; maintain standards of housekeeping and ‘home care' by encouraging and participating in ‘teamwork' and ‘house-sharing' with other staff and young people.
- To lone work with young people on a one to one basis in the community to, assist and encourage them to maintain standards of housekeeping, develop positive neighbour relations, and access locally available mainstream services.
- To contribute to the management of the transitions young people negotiate between the various living arrangements provided by the project.
- To design and facilitate flexible individual programmes with young people which,
- Define their needs, wishes and aspirations;

- identify goals and methods through which these will be met/achieved; and
- to review, assess and change those goals as the young person's life develops.
