We value our volunteers and seek to ensure their diverse roles are rewarding and beneficial to all.

The role:

  • Support clients with obtaining suitable accommodation and support tenancy sustainment
  • Undertake outreach sessions, including referral agencies and other stakeholders to publicise
  • Facilitate drop in sessions
  • Provide advice within an office or an outreach setting
  • To attend any relevant multi-agency meetings as required
  • To share any concerns with a staff member
  • To respect peoples’ differences
  • Contacting people for feedback on their experience
  • Supporting staff with admin responsibilities and relevant paperwork
  • Potential to support on home visits.
  • Support service users with bidding in a community hub setting.

Skills we would like you to bring to the role:

  • Organised
  • Friendly and confident manner
  • Confidence to speak to people accessing the service
  • Experience of working / volunteering with adults at risk / with support needs related to accommodation and / or drug/alcohol use
  • Clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Confident IT skills – aside from any IT skills required for the role, some of our mandatory training is done online through eLearning modules
  • Professional, honest and committed
  • Non-judgmental towards people with lived experience
  • Good time keeping
  • Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction
  • An understanding of Waythrough – information is available on our website, and you can call a specific project to make enquiries.
  • A genuine interest in being part of the mission, vision and promise of Waythrough
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to Waythrough policies and media guidelines, engage in supervision, and complete relevant training
