Derbyshire Recovery Partnership (DRP) is looking for a Housing Support Development Link Worker to help strengthen the connection between housing services and drug and alcohol treatment and recovery across Derbyshire. The aim of the role is to help break down housing-related barriers for people in treatment and recovery from drug/alcohol addiction.

This is an exciting new role designed to improve treatment engagement and recovery outcomes for people whose housing circumstances are creating barriers to accessing support, remaining in treatment, or sustaining recovery.

Rather than holding a caseload, you will focus on identifying housing-related challenges early, connecting people to the right support, strengthening referral pathways, and working with partners to improve systems and services.

 The Role

The Housing Support Development Link Worker will focus on three key areas:

• Supporting people where housing difficulties are preventing access to treatment.
• Supporting people in treatment where housing issues are disrupting engagement and recovery.
• Supporting people in recovery where housing instability may place their ongoing recovery at risk.

Working across treatment and housing systems, you will help develop and embed a sustainable housing link model that improves coordination between DRP teams, specialist housing support workers, and accommodation providers throughout Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Support the early identification of housing needs that impact treatment engagement and recovery.
• Develop strong relationships with housing providers, homelessness services and accommodation support organisations.
• Provide advice, guidance and navigation support to treatment teams regarding housing options and referral routes.
• Facilitate tenancy sustainment and housing-related support groups as part of recovery programmes.
• Develop practical resources, contingency plans and housing guidance materials.
• Attend quarterly Housing Support Worker meetings and Derbyshire County Council Public Health thematic meetings.
• Gather feedback from people with lived experience to inform service and system improvements.
• Support the development of effective referral pathways between substance use services and housing support provision.
• Help identify trends, service gaps and opportunities to improve outcomes for people experiencing housing-related challenges.
• Promote a trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approach across all aspects of the role.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience of working with people who have complex needs.
• Knowledge of housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment or accommodation support services.
• Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.
• An understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work independently and influence across systems and services.
• A commitment to reducing stigma and improving outcomes for vulnerable people.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Experience within substance use services, homelessness services, mental health, social care, housing support or a related sector would be advantageous.
