About us
Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is based in Oxenhope, near Keighley. As well as providing expert palliative care, we support people living with life-limiting conditions and their families across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven and North Bradford.
We support people aged 18 and over living with conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease. Our care combines specialist medical support with emotional, practical and spiritual care to help people live the best quality of life possible.
We provide care through our inpatient unit and through our Clinical Nurse Specialist team, who support people in their own homes.
About the Role
Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is looking for an experienced and motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to join our friendly and dedicated team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys leading and supporting others. You will play an important role in ensuring our hospice environment remains safe, welcoming and comfortable for everyone who uses our services.
This role includes weekend working on a rota basis (alternate weekends).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to local and national standards and overseeing the efficient organisation of laundry services where applicable.
Supervising and supporting housekeeping staff to deliver a high-quality service.
Ordering supplies and checking deliveries for accuracy and quality.
Assisting in the management of clinical and non-clinical waste.
Identifying and reporting any faults, damage or maintenance concerns.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring processes comply with relevant standards and procedures.
Ensuring patient preferences are respected and reflected in the delivery of housekeeping services.
Supporting a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the service.
About You
You will be organised, dependable and able to lead by example. You will understand the important contribution that housekeeping services make to the experience of patients and families receiving hospice care.
Minimum Essential Criteria

Experience of working in a housekeeping, domestic or cleaning environment.
Experience of supervising, supporting or coordinating the work of others.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Basic IT skills, including the ability to complete records and access information electronically.
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field or equivalent qualification.
Experience working within a healthcare, hospice, care home or similar environment.
Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety requirements.
Experience of stock control and ordering supplies.
