About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in delivering a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all our guests. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout Calvert Lakes.
You will be responsible for supervising changeovers, managing rotas, ordering supplies, and ensuring all staff are trained and supported to deliver a consistent and excellent standard of service. On changeover days in particular, the work can be physically demanding, so a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to prioritise under pressure are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure residential bedrooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard
- Take responsibility for day-to-day housekeeping operations
- Supervise and support the housekeeping team, including planning and overseeing staff rotas
- Schedule deep cleans and team training to maintain standards and compliance
- Order cleaning supplies, chemicals and domestic items, ensuring stock levels are maintained
- Ensure team compliance with COSHH and health & safety regulations
- Liaise with the Maintenance team to ensure timely repair and upkeep of the premises
- Carry out room inspections and address minor issues where appropriate
- Respond to guest requests (e.g. additional linen, care equipment, etc.)
- Work with the Operations Manager to update and maintain housekeeping risk assessments, Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
- Assist and support other departments when needed to ensure a positive visitor experience
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager or Senior Leadership Team

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of working with guests or customers in a professional setting
- Experience using cleaning chemicals and knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Must be able to use own initiative, prioritise and manage a team effectively
- Strong communication skills and team leadership skills
Desirable
- Experience managing a small team in hospitality
- Relevant H&S training and qualifications
Conditions of Service
Contract: This position is permanent after the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Some weekend working on a rota basis will be required. Full-time, part-time and flexible hours considered.
Holidays: 33 days per annum, including Bank Holidays. This entitlement is pro-rata for part-time working.
Up to 10 days are required to be taken over the winter closedown period.
Pension: The Trust operates an occupational pension scheme with National Employment Savings Trust (NEST). We offer a 3% Employee pension and 5% Employer pension contribution.
