Are you a natural marketer who can build trusted relationships and find the stories that show what hospice care is really like?
Are you a PR pro who loves spotting media opportunities and can help our stories reach the right people?
Can you create thoughtful communications plans – from internal updates to research and marketing campaigns – that engage supporters, professionals and new audiences?
Yes? Then you could be the newest addition to our Communications and Marketing team.
We’re looking for a creative communicator with a love of marketing who’s willing to get stuck in, work hard – and more importantly, make a real impact to support the work we do with our patients and their families.
As a Hospice Communications and Marketing Officer, your days will be filled with seeking out stories, creating content for a range of audiences and helping people understand hospice care, clinical services and research.
You’ll be just as comfortable chatting with our directors as you are with patients – including children, young people and adults with life-limiting conditions.
You’ll be a real wordsmith with fresh ideas. You’ll love adapting the voice and style of writing to suit the audience – from patients and families, to staff and volunteers, supporters and the general public, to the media, research partners and funders, corporate supporters and healthcare professionals. There’s lots of variety in what you’ll be asked to produce, from social media posts to patient leaflets, staff newsletters, research prospectuses, media releases and more.
Alongside your fellow officer, you’ll work on a range of internal and external campaigns and projects – and you’ll be happy to take the lead where needed.
Excited?
Great! We’d love to hear from you if you’re…
- A caring, organised all-rounder– someone who can build trust, juggle deadlines and keep smiling when things get busy
- A communications, marketing or PR pro– with media experience, contacts and/or the ability to spot engaging media opportunities that help St Oswald’s Hospice reach new audiences
- A confident writer and storyteller –someone who can turn patient, clinical and research information into clear content for leaflets, press releases, web pages and more without breaking a sweat
- Someone with at least two years’ relevant experienceand an interest in healthcare, hospice care, research communications or meaningful public service work
