Our vision is that everyone accessing Foodbank services can receive practical help with their finances, improve their financial wellbeing and reduce the need for future crisis support. Do you have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy developing volunteers and want to help people build a more secure financial future? At Faithworks, we believe nobody should face hardship alone. Through our homelessness services, we help people get off the street, stay off the street, and rebuild lives filled with hope, purpose and community. As our Welcome Worker, you will often be the first person that guests encounter when they arrive at Half-Time or engage with our homelessness services. That first conversation can make all the difference. mWe are looking for someone who can create a safe, compassionate and professional welcome for people experiencing homelessness and hardship, while helping them access the support they need to move forward.

With support from the National Lottery Community Fund and in partnership with Bournemouth Foodbank, we are expanding our financial resilience work across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Financial Resilience Coordinator BCP to deliver money guidance activities, support volunteers and strengthen partnerships with foodbanks, churches and community organisations.

Working as part of Faithworks’ Financial Resilience team, you will help individuals and families move from financial crisis towards greater confidence and resilience, while equipping volunteers and churches to play an active role in supporting their communities.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Provide a welcoming and supportive first point of contact for guests, visitors and partner agencies.
  • Carry out initial conversations and triage assessments to identify needs and priorities.
  • Support guests to access practical services including showers, laundry facilities, clothing and refreshments.
  • Work alongside volunteers, helping create a culture of dignity, hospitality and encouragement.
  • Signpost and connect guests with caseworkers, partner agencies and wider community support.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
  • A calm, compassionate and resilient approach when working with people facing crisis.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good judgement, professional boundaries and an understanding of safeguarding.
  • Someone who is passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness build a brighter future.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in helping people feel seen, valued and supported as they begin their journey towards greater stability and hope.
