We’re looking for a Lifestyle Advisor to work at the South Walks House Outpatient Centre in Dorchester. You might need to travel to other locations in Dorset, such as Active Dorset’s head office at Slades Park Pavilion in Bournemouth.
One part-time role is available to cover up to 32 hours per week, between Monday and Friday. We would consider a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 32 hours. The candidate must be able to fulfil hours to cover AM clinics (8.45am–12.45pm), PM clinics (1.45pm–5.15pm), or a full day (8.45am–5.15pm).
We’re looking for someone to join our Outpatient Lifestyle team who will engage patients in conversations to support their health and wellbeing, and signpost patients to services that can support them. You will work alongside the wider healthcare team, including clinicians from various specialities and other healthcare professionals.
This role is based at the Outpatient Assessment Centre at South Walks House in Dorchester. This was newly refurbished in February 2024, after funding was secured to transform two floors of the building into permanent clinical space. This enables the Trust to run more outpatient clinics, offer diagnostic appointments (such as X-rays), as well as day case procedures. This new space has also offered the opportunity to introduce health and wellbeing services as an innovative approach to supporting patients.
We’re looking for someone who loves helping others live healthier lives. You should feel comfortable talking to different people and enjoy working with a variety of people. This role could be great for someone just finishing school or someone with experience in helping others.
This job will give you the chance to see different types of healthcare services and work with lots of healthcare professionals. It’s a great opportunity to learn and make a difference for patients.
