St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides end of life support to the population of Eastbourne and the surrounding parts of East Sussex, from our stunning hospice building and through our highly skilled community teams. We’re looking for a calm, compassionate HCA with excellent communication skills to join our community nursing and hospice line team - a collaborative telephone support service for people approaching the end of life and their families.
Working days at
St Wilfrid’s Hospice,you’ll be visiting patients in their own homes and when you are working a hospice line shift be the first point of contact for callers to the hospice needing support. Typical visits and calls include:- Emotional support for anxious or distressed families
- Coordinating community responses
- Recording changes in condition
- Taking calls when a death has occurred
- Visiting a patient in their own home
For Hospice Line, an innovative new collaboration between St Wilfrid’s and St Michael’s hospice’s, you will use strong listening skills, structured questioning and clear documentation to ensure callers receive safe, compassionate support. Remote working may be considered for experienced staff after probation (not guaranteed).
