Healthcare Assistant - Community and Hospice Line

We’re looking for a calm, compassionate HCA with excellent communication skills to join our community nursing and hospice line team - a collaborative telephone support service for people approaching the end of life and their families.

Working days at

• Emotional support for anxious or distressed families
• Coordinating community responses
• Recording changes in condition
• Taking calls when a death has occurred
• Visiting a patient in their own home

For Hospice Line, an innovative new collaboration between St Wilfrid’s and St Michael’s hospice’s, you will use strong listening skills, structured questioning and clear documentation to ensure callers receive safe, compassionate support. Remote working may be considered for experienced staff after probation (not guaranteed).

• Comfortable working independently in a community setting
• Reliable, resilient and confident using electronic systems
• Willing to attend daytime training and work flexibly

• Regular community shifts to maintain clinical skills
