From £7,710 per annum for 12 hours per week
term-time plus 5 mornings (20hrs) during school holidays
Position available to start in the summer term
Are you calm and empathic and enjoy working in a busy environment with children and young people? Would you like the opportunity to join a highly regarded Surrey independent preparatory school?
We are looking to appoint a part-time Primary First Aider to join our busy Health and Wellbeing team. We provide primary first aid and health support to a student base of 400 boys covering the core school day (8.30am – 4.30pm) from a dedicated medical room based in our lower school.
You will have health-related knowledge of children and young people and the ability to stay calm in an emergency. Ideally with a nursing or paramedic background, you will have experience of triaging children, treating a range of minor injuries and be comfortable with communicating with parents over medical matters. You will have great organisational and team working skills coupled with the ability to work independently and to demonstrate initiative. Accurate IT skills are essential to maintain and update medical records using the school’s management information systems (iSams, MS Office). A RSGN or RGN qualification is not required however, we welcome applications from qualified medical practitioners.
Hours of work are 1.5 days (Mondays 8:30am – 4:30pm and Tuesdays 8:30am – 12:30pm) during the school term (as published on our website). Additional hours may be available for applicants looking for 16 hours per week. You will also need to attend school INSETs and work the equivalent of 5 mornings (20hrs) during the school holidays (flexibility during the holidays is possible).
We offer excellent training and CPD opportunities, a competitive pension, fee discount for children at Rokeby, excellent staff lunches and an inclusive and diverse workplace. The school is located close to Richmond Park and Kingston Town Centre, with excellent transport connections to local areas.
