Health Care Assistants
Location – Nr Stroud
Salary – £13.73 hourly rate
Hours – Part time, 18.75 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for 2 experienced, caring and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our Living Well Services team at Longfield Community Hospice. This part-time role supports patients living with life-limiting illnesses, helping them maintain comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Working under the supervision of an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, person-centred care in our Day Hospice setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and emotional support to Day Hospice patients
- Assist with mobility, hygiene, and nutrition needs
- Support patients to engage in therapeutic and social activities
- Observe and report changes in patients’ condition
- Offer reassurance and practical support to families and carers
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment
- Support individual patients as a key worker, with supervision and guidance
- Assist with therapy-led activities to promote independence
- Contribute ideas for meaningful activities for patients and carers

About You
You will be kind, reliable, and patient-focused, with good communication skills and a genuine desire to support people at a challenging time in their lives.
You must have access to a car and have a full clean driving licence.
