Have you been waiting for that one opportunity to come up that can really make a difference to your work life? We’ve moved into an exciting era in the Property Investment team and are looking for an enthusiastic person to join us as our Head of Project Delivery.
You may be in an equivalent role, or you may be a Contracts or Operational Manager ready for that next move. We would like you to bring your passion to the role, to lead a highly successful team.

As Head of Project Delivery you’ll be leading a team of specialists to ensure that we deliver our strategic objectives in terms of meeting the legal requirements in relation to property compliance, in particular to High Risk Buildings and fire safety.

You will work with colleagues across the wider team to create and shape a strategic approach to the delivery of projects, ensuring a smooth transition from the planning stages, right through each step until project completion and handover. We have a five year programme ahead of us and you’ll be looking to make a real impact.

Key accountabilities in the role will include;

  • Being accountable for the end-to-end management of all projects that are formally approved for delivery
  • Ensuring that there are compliant routes to market, that Aster has a commercially evaluated range of suppliers, including but not limited to, architects, engineers, building control, contractors, and specialists to ensure everyone is working towards the same goals.
  • Overseeing that work activities are managed in a uniformed, way, deploying standard operating processes (SOP) where feasible, and that all activities are delivered in accordance will all prevailing legislation.
  • Ensuring works are delivered on time and in budget and that strong commercial oversight is deployed against each stage of the process and is evaluated in terms of value for money.
  • Providing ownership and accountability for the associated budgets, including budgeting, financial forecasting, production planning and phasing work activities.
  • Leading your team to ensure they developed in their roles and enabling them to provide great outcomes.

About you

As mentioned, you will bring to the role relevant experience that will make you a stand out candidate.  You will likely have a background in Planned Capital Replacement/Project Delivery and will have demonstrable experience in fire risk management. 
 

You will be educated to degree level and/or hold a professional qualification in a construction or building related discipline and/or be able to demonstrate relevant industry experience.

You will have the skills to design and deliver a multifaceted strategy, whilst motivating a large and dispersed team.
 

You’ll have the skills and knowledge to determine how we can deliver savings and efficiencies, without impacting the quality of the service and will drive forward change to enable this.

You will have a strong understanding of the heath and safety, and changing regulatory environment in social housing property management, particularly High-Risk Building Management and Fire Safety.

This is a hybrid role enabling you to base yourself from home. You will be ideally located within or close to our operating region to enable travel between sites and offices. You will hold a full UK driving licence and will have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Our operating region includes London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.
